Anne Felicia Ambrose is Professor and Chief of Rehabilitation at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stonybrook . She graduated from St Johns Medical College, India and did her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore. She is Board Certified in Brain Injury Medicine and has received her Master of Science in Clinical Research from Mt Sinai/New York University.
Dr Ambrose was the Medical Director of the Brain Injury Unit at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She has extensive experience in rehabilitation research, as Co-Director of the Traumatic Brain Injury Model System Program while at Mount Sinai and as a core researcher in the Division of Cognitive and Motor Aging, Department of Neurology at Montefiore which has now moved to Stonybrook Her areas of research are the cognitive impairments following trauma or acquired illnesses,
Over the years, Dr. Ambrose has also been recognized for her commitment to mentorship and education of future physicians. She was responsible for founding the PMR residency at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital. She has been instrumental in creating and organizing the annual Career Development Workshops at the American Association of Physiatrists (AAP) for the past many years. In recognition of her efforts, she has received the Inspiration Award from the American Medical Association (AMA) in 2020.
