Dr. Adam Lewno is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at University of Michigan. Dr. Lewno earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Northwestern University while competing on the varsity swimming team. He obtained his medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) where he was the co-director of the UPMC Mercy Internal Medicine Osteopathic education, team physician for University of California Pennsylvania, and a founding member of EMBRACE, an amputee dance initiative. Dr Lewno then came to Michigan as part of the University of Michigan’s Sports Medicine Fellowship where he was an acting team physician for both University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University while also completing University of Michigan’s Family Medicine Faculty Development Institute certification program for medical educators. He continues his passion for taking care of athletes as a team physician for Eastern Michigan University. Team Consultant for University of Michigan Athletics, and as a team physician for USA Swimming.
