Dr. Obada Obaisi is a board-certified physiatrist specializing in cancer rehabilitation and lifestyle medicine. He serves as Medical Director of Cancer Rehabilitation at RUSH MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he developed and leads the comprehensive Cancer Rehabilitation Program. In addition, he is Director of Education for the RUSH Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Residency Program.
Dr. Obaisi earned his combined BA/MD degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine. He completed residency training in PM&R at RUSH University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by a fellowship in Cancer Rehabilitation at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He holds certifications from the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine and is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
Dr. Obaisi is an invited national speaker on topics in cancer rehabilitation and lifestyle medicine and has published peer-reviewed research and book chapters in these areas. He was recognized as a Castle Connolly Rising Star and received the Educator of the Year Award from the RUSH PM&R Residency Program.
