Shreya Chalapalli is a medical student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and a 2025 RREMS participant at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. During her summer research experience, she worked with Dr. Scott Barbuto and colleagues to investigate remote eyeblink conditioning as a digital biomarker of cerebellar function in patients with spinocerebellar ataxia. Their work integrates cerebellar motor learning paradigms with mobile technology to address gaps in accessible, objective assessment of neurologic disease. This project reflects her passion for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and her commitment to advancing patient-centered, equitable approaches to rehabilitation research.
