Wendell T. Robinson is the Medical Education Program Academic Manager in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), where he is deeply committed to advancing supportive, inclusive, and high-quality learning environments for residents and fellows. He brings a people-centered approach to graduate medical education grounded in compassion, accountability, and collaboration.
In additional to his normal duties, Wendell serves as Chair of the Department Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Department Wellness Committees, where he leads initiatives focused on psychological safety, belonging, and sustainable well-being for trainees, faculty, and staff. He is especially passionate about creating systems that normalize support-seeking, reduce administrative burden, and empower everyone to thrive both professionally and personally. His greatest joy comes from supporting GME professionals and trainees as they grow, navigate challenges, and build meaningful, fulfilling careers in medicine.
Currently pursuing a Master of Health Administration at Capella University, Wendell’s professional interests include healthcare leadership, workforce development, and community outreach. He has been recognized for his contributions with multiple honors, including the UPMC Medical Education Administrator Well-Being Champion of the Year, the UPMC System Dignity & Respect Champion Award, and the PMR Residency Program Outstanding Clerical Support Award.
