Dr. Saulino earned his PhD (Biological Chemistry) and MD degrees from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 1993. He completed a transitional residency in 1994 at Mercy Catholic Medical Center. He completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University in 1997. He was chief resident in his final year of residency training. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Injury Medicine and Pain Management.
Dr Saulino has received multiple academic honors including American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Distinguished Clinician Award, Association of Academic Physiatrist Best research Paper, Association of Academic Physiatrists, Program for Academic Leadership Award, multiple top doctor awards (Philadelphia magazine, South Jersey Magazine and Suburban Life), Sidney Kimmel Medical College Dean’s Citation for Contribution to resident education and University of the Sciences in Philadelphia Outstanding Adjunct Teaching Award. He has been active contributor to the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for development of educational content.
Dr. Saulino’s areas of clinical and research interest include pain management, spasticity management, neuromodulation, peripheral nerve stimulation and intrathecal therapy. Dr. Saulino has published over 70 scientific articles in prestigious medical journals including the PM&R, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair, Neurology, Spinal Cord and Neuromodulation. He has authored over two dozen textbook chapters.
