Associate Director
Research Institute at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare
I have been working as a clinical scientist in the neurorehabilitation field for the past 20 years. I focus my research on brain-injured patients with Disorders of Consciousness (DOC) and, more particularly, on the assessment of their brain activity and cognitive functions using behavioral, electrophysiological and neuroimaging techniques. I have published more than 150 articles (H-index: 68) in international peer-reviewed journals such as Neurology, Annals of Neurology, Nature Reviews Neurology and Lancet. I currently work as the Associate Director of the Research Institute and the Program Director of the C3DoC at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare (Pomona, CA). I also hold an academic appointment as Adjunct Research Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC). Finally, I chair the Disorders of Consciousness Special Interest Group for the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA DoC SIG; around 200 members).
