Dr. Chandan is a physician-scientist who engages in health services research to improve the quality of medical care for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. As founder of Data Design Lab, she leads innovative population health, health professional training, and disability community engagement efforts. She has been involved in health policy and advocacy efforts in the disability space for over 15 years and has served in leadership positions in both academia and industry at national, state, and local levels. Dr. Chandan is currently a clinical associate professor at the University Louisville School of Medicine in the Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and is passionate about medical education. She serves as a Senior Editor for PM&R, the official scientific journal of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), and as Co-Editor of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Center for Health Justice and MedEdPORTAL Community Engagement Call for Submissions. She brings expertise in community engaged scholarship, mixed methods, and econometrics. She serves on the Scientific and Clinical Advisory Board of the National Down Syndrome Society and the Board of Special Olympics Kentucky.
