The goal of rehabilitation is to reduce the impact of disability and, when possible, prevent it altogether. Achieving this requires increasingly precise, individualized approaches to care. Precision rehabilitation represents an emerging framework that aligns the right intervention with the right person, at the right time, and in the right setting—ultimately elevating the quality and effectiveness of rehabilitation interventions. By integrating data that quantify the domains of human ability, applying predictive analytics and developing novel interventions precision rehabilitation has the potential to improve functional outcomes, increase care efficiency, and strengthen the value rehabilitation brings to healthcare.
This plenary will introduce the concepts, requirements and illustrative examples of precision rehabilitation.
