Brief Session Description : We dream of a world of restored function through neural prostheses - the neurologic sequelae of acquired injury erased with the flick of a switch. In this didactic session, we will explore the state of the science of neuro-modulation following acquired brain injury. We will review the physiology of neuroplasticity, discuss the breadth of current neuro-modulation techniques, and delve into future directions for both non-invasive and invasive technology including the promise of brain-computer interface for recovery following acquired brain injury.
